Johnson's Drive-In

This is an amazing family owned restaurant that has been around for at least 40 years. The restaurant is spotlessly clean and efficient based on the size of their kitchen and orders that come in. You can eat in in their glass area or make a take out order. Your Food is not cooked into you order it so if you’re taking the food to go plan to wait a few minutes. But the owner will talk to you and make it a pleasant experience. It’s worth getting off the road for a few minutes to have this experience of a North Carolina classic.

Small town burgers and hot dogs wrapped in wax paper kinda joint. My kind of place! Burgers and hot dogs were awesome. Fires were great. Staff was polite . Cah only joint. Definitely recommend!

Great place. Been serving since 1946. Staff is very friendly. Everything is cooked to order so don’t be in hurry. Seating is limited so expect to stand in line unless you get there early. You can get everything on your burger or dog except bacon. Can’t even get a BLT! If you are in the area you must stop in!

The hype is real. Best burger I’ve ever had. They use velveeta or similar for the cheese. Cash only, which I like. Gets very busy, quickly. Best to come early. The staff are super friendly and love interacting with customers. Will be back

I love little places like this. Definitely worth the stop. I had a cheeseburger with onions mustard chili and slaw and my husband had a chilli cheese dog. The burgers were freshly made and the cheese was freshly cut into large chunks. Soooo sooo good.

I’ve been meaning to try this place for the last five years or so and today I decided to take the hour drive. The place was packed, and there was a very long line of people waiting for to go orders, and to be seated. I quickly realized that placing a Togo order would be my fastest way to get these burgers. My first observation was the staff was a very tight knit, bunch, working extremely hard, and had a very good system in place. I ordered two cheese burgers with onions and mayonnaise a side of french fries and a Pepsi. I waited around 25 to 30 minutes for my food to be ready. While waiting I chatted with many friendly customers as we all shared a common interest of waiting anxiously for our burgers. I took the burgers right to the parking lot and devoured them on the trunk of my car. The taste was absolutely exceptional! Everything I heard about these burgers came true. Within my first bite I was in heaven. My hour drive and 30 minute wait for the food was now a thing of the past as I continued to devour these remarkable burgers. I can’t wait to come back!

A local legend, never open when we pass by until today. Cyndi described it as stepping into a time machine. Fresh ingredients prepared right in front of you. 12 burgers at a time on the grill. Big slabs of cheese cut individually. We both got the cheeseburgers, and split an order of fries. And the question is, how good are they? I rated them good to very good, but not knock-your-socks-off. Cyndi rated them higher, but I think she was enchanted by the Ambiance a little bit. They're only open for a couple of hours around noon time, always crowded, But if there ever open again when we pass by, I'd be glad to stop.
